Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir was slightly injured yesterday (Friday) in a car accident in Ramla, when he was on his way back from a tour of the scene of the attack in the city where a young woman was stabbed.
In an official announcement from his office, at the end of the Sabbath, it was said: “At the end of the Sabbath, the minister was informed with sorrow and astonishment about the waves of hatred and death wishes that flooded the media studios and social networks, both in the left-wing districts of Israel and in Arab countries and among Israel haters around the world.”
The bureau also stated: “In the studios and among the people of the extreme left, there were probably quite a few who would have celebrated if, God forbid, the result had been more difficult. Praise be to God and thanks to the dedicated medical care, the minister is recovering and his condition is improving.”

“The minister thanks the thousands of well-wishers and the tens of thousands who prayed for his safety. The minister is under constant threat to his life and his conduct according to those who are targeted by terrorist elements 24/7. The minister returns tonight to take care of the national security of Klal Israel. Only last Friday we saw evidence of the importance of the reforms made by Minister Ben Gabir and Azhar who received a license as part of the weapons reform saved lives.”
The minister himself tweeted on his X account (formerly Twitter) and wrote about the accident: “I hear all kinds of complaints about the way I travel. I’ll just mention, unfortunately I am the most threatened personality in the State of Israel today. Just in the last year several squads were captured who wanted to assassinate me. Accordingly , and as is customary with other threatened senior figures, my journey together with the security vehicles is in an operational format. In particular at times and places with a higher threat level.”
Have a good week with Israel
Thanks to the Creator of the world, to the dedicated medical team, to the tens of thousands who prayed for my healing in the synagogues, and to the thousands who sent me messages of concern and wishes for recovery. I am happy to announce that I am recovering, and the truth is that I returned to work immediately even from my hospital bed (I told the Prime Minister who called to demand my peace on Friday, that I am functioning…

“Shamefully, I see people who publicly wish for my death. Including one person who used to be a police officer. This is a despicable phenomenon, of despicable people, who harbor hatred of brothers, who love enemies more than brothers, and are the greatest danger to the State of Israel. We can disagree on the path , we can also talk about the essence, but we must not forget that we are all brothers. When Hamas committed its massacre, it did not separate the right from the left!
In the meantime, Knesset member Naama Lazimi sent an urgent letter to the ombudsman tonight in order for her to open a comprehensive investigation into Ben Gabir’s conduct on the roads and the danger he poses to public safety.

“The accident in which Ben Gabir was involved yesterday is another case in which we witness the promiscuous conduct of those who ironically trust the law enforcement system,” Lazimi said.
“This is an irresponsible person, who consciously and systematically violates the law, and puts himself, his employees and the entire public in danger. From the multitude of testimonies and cases in which Ben Gabir was involved, a clear picture emerges of promiscuous conduct that endangers public peace and does not stem from operational considerations. It also appears that Ben Gabir is persuading his employees to break the law and endanger themselves and their environment. Therefore, I have contacted Yamesh in order to conduct an urgent and comprehensive investigation into his conduct.”

Ben Gabir was taken to the Shamir-Assaf Harofeh hospital in a mild-moderate condition yesterday, after his vehicle burst into an intersection at a red light upon leaving the scene of the stabbing attack in the city – and collided with the vehicle of a young man who was driving at a green light. He was later transferred together with his daughter, who was also in the car and was slightly injured, to Hadassah Ein Kerem.
