Chilwell responded to the news with a statement on social media. For him this is a blow after he severely injured his ACL muscle last season and struggled to recover.
“After my anterior cruciate ligament injury, I worked very hard to make sure I was ready for the World Cup. It has always been my dream. Unfortunately it won’t be possible following the results of my injury scan,” he said. .
