“Ben Affleck cites reasons for not directing a DC film and offers critical thoughts on ‘Justice League'”

It was in 2016 when fans first saw Ben Affleck’s Batman in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’.

Ben Affleck harshly criticized the movie ‘Justice League’

In an interview with ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, published on March 16, the actor mentioned that the film projects that excite him are not those that “are working” commercially.

In that sense, he criticized that movies like ‘Justice League’ “became repetitive and less interesting to me.”

When delving into the 2017 tape, he expressed:

“You could give a whole seminar on all the reasons why that’s not the way to do it.”

The negative experiences he listed were:

“From the production to the bad decisions and the horrible personal tragedy, and ending with the most monstrous taste in my mouth.”

It is worth remembering that the original director of the film was Zack Snyder, but he had to withdraw from the project after the death of his daughter.

His replacement was Joss Whedon. About his work with him, Jennifer Lopez’s husband said:

“There was the idea that someone was going to come in and be like ‘I’ll save the movie and we’ll shoot in 60 days and I’ll write a new script with what they already have, I have the secret,’ but it wasn’t the secret. It was difficult”.

For his part, Ben Affleck also went through difficult times, as he recounted:

“I started drinking too much. I was in a London hotel, it was either that (drink) or throw myself out the window And I just thought ‘This is not the life I want, my children are not here, I am miserable’”.

“I don’t patronize that or discount it, but I got to a point where I didn’t find it creatively satisfying.”

Without assigning the blame to anyone, Ben Affleck finished off with that ‘Justice League’ was “the worst experience I’ve had in an industry that is full of experiences of m… It broke my heart.”

Ben Affleck talked about his cameo in ‘The Flash’

The truth is that, despite his bad experience on set, the 50-year-old actor will play the Dark Knight again with a cameo in ‘The Flash’.

Fans can begin to raise their expectations about the tape, since he himself described “the five minutes that I go out there” as “very good.”

“A lot of it is just the tone. You have to figure out what your version of the person is, who is the type that fits what you can do.”

Ben Affleck Says He Won’t Direct a DC Movie

Although Ben Affleck can measure the impact that Batman had on his career, he would no longer be willing to go behind the scenes to make a DC movie.

“I was going to direct a Batman movie and (‘Justice League’) made me quit (the project). ‘I’m out, I never want to do any of this, I’m not the one.’

Asked what he would say if DC asked him to make a movie right now, Ben Affleck replied:

“I wouldn’t direct something for James Gunn’s DC, definitely not. I have nothing against James Gunn, he’s a good guy, he sure is doing a good job. He just wouldn’t go run something the way they’re running it. I’m not interested in that”.
