– Beloved and award-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones has died, aged 66, a spokesperson told the magazine People.
He states that the cause of death is a lung disease the actor has had for a long time.
Cephas Jones is survived by his 34-year-old actress daughter Jasmine Cephas Jones.
He was best known for his role as William Hill in the American drama series “This is Us”, a role that secured him an Emmy Award for Best Guest Actor in both 2018 and 2020, writes People.
In 2022, he was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance in the play “Clyde’s” on Broadway.
– Throughout his career, his warmth, beauty, generosity and kindness have been noticed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
– He began his career at the Nuyorican Poets cafe, and his love for the stage was always there throughout his career, says the spokesperson.
In an interview with the New York Times in 2021, the actor shared that he had received a double lung transplant in 2020.
