Bellandi: «Let’s prepare to live this Year in Prayer together»

Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno in ferment, in preparation for Jubilee 2025. «Pope francesco asked the whole Church to dedicate this year of immediate preparation for the Jubilee 2025 to the theme of Prayer. – begins the Archbishop of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno, His Excellency Monsignor Andrea Bellandi – Our Archdiocese, joyfully welcoming this invitation from the Holy Father – continues – sis organizing some moments to experience this Year of Prayer together and invites all Parish Priests, on Mercy Sunday on April 7th, to remind the faithful of this opportunity, also through a Jubilee Prayer curated by the diocesan liturgical office».

The Diocesan journey in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee will therefore begin tomorrow, Sunday 7 April 2024, the Second Sunday of Easter, when in all the Parishes of the Diocese, during the Holy Masses, we will read an initial warning, adding an intention to the Prayers of the Faithful and, before the final Blessing, the Jubilee Prayer will be recited. The first Diocesan event in preparation for the 2025 Jubilee will take place on Tuesday 14 May 2024. This diocesan convocation will see faithful representing all the Parishes of the Archdiocese gathered for a moment of prayer and reflection on the theme of Hope. Meanwhile, a special window has been inserted on the website of the Archdiocese of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno, in which some appointments are already visible, which will later be specified in detail.

The Jubilee

The word “Jubilee” etymologically derives from the instrument used to indicate the beginning, the yobel, alias the ram’s horn that announces the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). The celebration that occurs every year takes on a particular meaning when it coincides with the beginning of the Jubilee year. The Great Jubilee of the year 2000 ushered the Church into the third millennium of its history. The goal of the first twenty-five years of the 21st century is now close: preparation is therefore underway that will allow the Christian people to experience the Holy Year in all its pastoral significance.
