Last Saturday, for the 12th date of the second round of the Ladies Championship E Subdivision E2 of the Amateur Field Hockey Association of Buenos Aires (AHBA), the Campana Boat Club received Nueva Chicago on the Campana riverbank, in search of of the triumph that leaves him one step away from promotion.
At the beginning of the match, the home team was solid in attack; The game was always in the visiting field and under total control of the CBC, who attacked all the time and managed to score two goals through Camila Tenembaum from a short corner and Sol Ale after a collective play. Chicago had some situation, but without causing major danger.
In the second quarter, Chicago leveled the action and the game began to go back and forth, but the boat always had control of the ball. The visitor was able to get closer to the local goal, but without obtaining clear chances of a goal that would give them the discount.
At the start of the complement, the Nueva Chicago team put the game on its shoulders and attacked the goal defended by Romina Guerrero (saved a penalty and several clear scoring chances) with more clarity, but without being able to score the goal. The CBC generated little in this period, but every time it arrived it generated danger and achieved, with the help of Sol Ale, the final 3-0 and second in Ale’s personal account.
In the last quarter, the team attacked more than its rival, with clear chances of increasing the score, but could not, despite having clear chances of short corners and some overflows. The visitor had some attempts and shots, but could not take advantage, since Guerrero was firm under the Boat’s three sticks.
Beyond the victory, Campana Boat Club was not given the result to ensure promotion to the “D” and they will have to go looking for it in two weeks, on November 16, when they visit San Albano B in the south of Greater Buenos Aires.
Romina Guerrero, goalkeeper and one of the figures of the boat, expressed that “we have one more step left and we are already with the goal that we set at the beginning of the year and with a lot of work, coming to train every day, with a lot of unity and forming a good team we can achieve. We went from less to more in the tournament, in the first round we were irregular, but in the second round we were superior in every game and the truth is that it was a giant growth.”
Meanwhile, Felipe Fernández Hulten, the team’s coach, was “happy because we are playing at home and experiencing it with family and friends is something unique. The week was built on conviction, which is what brought us here.
The team basically trusted the coaches, their teammates, the club, their family, their jersey, and the tournament. We started in a good way and after the winter preseason we gave another plus, which is what led us to be leaders and candidates for promotion.”
