Noovo, still as attractive as ever
The linear channel stands out thanks to a wide range of local productions and above all for its audacity in the choice of content presented to its audience. This fall, more than ever, the media highlighted the high quality of the productions and praised the talent of Noovo’s headliners and creators. The top ten positions in the channel’s most watched programs at A25-54 are all occupied by original productions. Most programs also achieved top ratings in their time slots in A25-54, including CHOUCHOU, LE MAÎTRE DU JEU and UNE AFFAIRE CRIMINELLE1. It should also be remembered that Noovo positions itself in the market with a younger average age audience than its competitors, especially its two main rival chains.
Noovo.ca: A destination of choice for Internet users
The Noovo.ca website remains very popular with Internet users. With over 12 million live and catch-up views, OCCUPATION DOUBLE MARTINIQUE maintains its number one position among users’ favorite shows. Ranked second, the critically acclaimed CHOUCHOU is the most popular fiction series on Noovo.ca since the platform’s launch. The list of winners continues with ALMOST PERFECT DINNER, JULIE’S WEEK 4 and GAME MASTER, who take third, fourth and fifth places, respectively.2.
Specialized channels are still very popular
The offer of specialized channels is still just as popular. Among 25-54, four of the most watched entertainment channels among the 10 most popular, all channels combined, belong to the Bell Media catalog. With nearly 2 million viewers each week, Canal D is still the channel with the largest reach among specialty entertainment channels and ranks third among most-watched channels3. Investigation’s viewership has increased since last year. In fact, the channel climbed three places in T2+’s most watched entertainment specials chart this fall, while remaining one of the longest-watching entertainment specials channels.4. Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, Canal Vie is still among the most watched specialty entertainment channels in Quebec. Last fall, LA FAMILLE GROULX, LA FAMILLE EST DANS LE PRÉ, MA PREMIÈRE MAISON and COUPLES À BOUTTE climbed to the top of the 10 most-watched entertainment programs with A25-54, all specialist entertainment channels combined.5. This fall at the Z, 6 of the 10 most watched regular shows across A25-54 are original productions, once again highlighting the talent of local artists6.
Two frequencies with enviable performance
On the airwaves, ÉNERGIE 94.3 and 107.3 Rouge accumulate successes. For the tenth time in a row, ÉNERGIE 94.3 ranks #1 among Montreal’s music radio stations. As for 107.3 Rouge, many women have been listening to VÉRONIQUE ET LES FANTASTIQUES and COMPLÈTEMENT MIDI this fall. The two shows are also at the forefront of music in their respective niches. With 134,000 and 50,000 downloads per week on iHeartRadio, the programs VÉRONIQUE ET LES FANTASTIQUE and COMPLÈTEMENT MIDI reach an even wider audience. VÉRONIQUE ET LES FANTASTIQUES is Bell Media’s most popular podcast with over 1.3 million hours downloaded this fall, double that of fall 20217.
The RDS group dominates the market once again!
When it comes to sports in Quebec, the channels of the RDS group, namely RDS, RDS2 and RDS Info, are the most watched. With a 76% sports share, the numbers speak for themselves: the group is the reference point for sports enthusiasts. In addition, L’ANTICHAMBRE, LE 5 À 7 and ON JASE far outstrip the competing channel’s programming in their respective time slots. Also, the Qatar 2022 FIFA World CupMC attracted an impressive number of spectators. In all, the tournament reached 24 million Canadians on RDS, Noovo, TSN and CTV, which is 62% of the country’s population. With the addition of Noovo as broadcaster for the final, Bell Media’s overall average audience in French-speaking Quebec increased by a significant 21%. There is no doubt that the RDS group is a leader in its market8.
