Blue Ventures, a renowned marine conservation organization dedicated to community-lead solutions, is searching for a highly skilled and passionate Spatial Data Developer to join its growing team.This is a unique prospect to contribute to impactful global conservation initiatives while working remotely or from one of Blue Ventures’ international offices.
For two decades, Blue Ventures has partnered with coastal communities, primarily in Madagascar, to revitalize fisheries and protect ocean ecosystems. Their work now spans a dozen countries, focusing on collaborative, community-based fisheries management and conservation. The organization emphasizes a people-frist approach, empowering local communities to become stewards of their marine resources.
A Critical role in Global Conservation
The prosperous candidate will play a vital role in strengthening Blue Ventures’ spatial data capabilities. Working closely with the Head of Spatial Data,data scientists,and engineers,the Spatial Data Developer will ensure that spatial data is readily accessible,reliable,and effectively visualized. A key focus will be enhancing data pipelines and creating user-amiable interfaces to support decision-making within small-scale fishing communities and across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Geographic Data Systems (GIS), exceptional organizational and analytical skills, and a deep commitment to using data to drive positive change. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and a passion for conservation.
