Turkish cinema is becoming more and more popular – new projects come out one after another and can boast of quite high ratings. One of the series risks going down in history, so much so that it falls in love with the audience.
It would seem that it is simply impossible to repeat the success of the cult Game of Thrones, the plot of which was watched without exaggeration by the whole world. But Turkish filmmakers proved otherwise when they shot the Knock on My Door series, which premiered in 2020.
This love story was seen in 85 countries around the world, and the tag of the series received 8.5 million tweets on the web, thus surpassing the legendary fantasy. It is possible that the series owes such popularity to the main actors – Kerem Bursin and Hande Erçel.
The stars who embodied the lovers admitted that they had an affair in real life, which caused an increased interest in the picture. However, soon after the filming ended, the couple broke up, which greatly disappointed the fans and made everyone say that this relationship was just a PR move.
