A new measure of social support for Belgorod residents studying at medical universities under targeted agreements with the Ministry of Health of the Belgorod Region was approved by Decree of the Government of the Belgorod Region dated October 14, 2024 No. 477-pp. It is based on Federal Decree No. 555 of April 27, 2024, which entered into force on May 1, 2024. As part of the program, specialty students will receive monthly payments in the amount of 2100 rublesand residents – 2056 rubles. The payment stops either upon completion of training or in the event of expulsion.
“Currently, 386 students of various medical universities are recipients of this social support measure. The new measure is aimed at supporting future specialists and is designed to reduce the financial burden on students. To obtain it, it is necessary to conclude an agreement on targeted training with the Ministry of Health of the Belgorod Region, starting from May 1, 2024,” – reported at the Ministry of Health of the Belgorod region.
This measure is part of a set of programs initiated by the governor Vyacheslav Gladkovto overcome the shortage of qualified specialists in healthcare. These initiatives also provide housing for doctors working in public medical institutions in the region and pay benefits to medical workers who return early from maternity leave. Thanks to these programs, it was possible to reduce the number of vacant positions in medical institutions in the region by five times.
