Belgium’s Elise Mertens Advances to Round of 16 at Madrid Open

Belgium’s Elise Mertens, seeded No. 24, won two sets to nil (6-3, 6-4) against Germany’s Jule Niemeier and qualified for the round of 16 of the Madrid tournament in Madrid, Saturday morning.
