Belgium will receive record deliveries of 900,000 vaccines next week

The vaccination campaign in our country will be given a major boost next week. 898,230 vaccines will be delivered next week. Dirk Ramaekers, head of the vaccination task force, announced this.

Of the nearly 900,000 vaccines delivered, 396,630 doses are from Pfizer, 52,800 from Moderna, 386,400 from AstraZeneca and 62,400 from Johnson & Johnson. The delivery of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccines may have some delay, but it is being caught up.

Cruising speed

If the nearly 900,000 vaccines are delivered to our country, this means that the vaccination centers will go up to speed. It is not yet entirely clear how many vaccines will be sent to Belgium in the following weeks. The AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson liver schedule for May is not yet known.

‘AstraZeneca continues to wait from week to week to see what they deliver. Johnson Johnson normally delivers us the May delivery schedule next week. There may be some delay next week. We will probably get delivery on April 29 with a slightly smaller number. This has to do with a delayed batch from the US. That will have little impact, because the delivery is still modest. We expect deliveries in accordance with the standard for May and June, ‘says Ramaekers.

The table provided by the vaccination task force makes it clear that the number of vaccines received from Pfizer will double from the week of May 31 to more than 730,000 doses per week.
