Belgium has the second worst budget in the eurozone, the European Commission is reprimanding our country

In an initial response, Federal State Secretary for Budget Alexia Bertrand (Open VLD) says that further reforms are desperately needed. She no longer looks to the Vivaldi government for this: “This government has taken the first steps in the right direction to get our public finances back on the right track. The next governments, at all policy levels, will have to reform, and even accelerate it.”

“It is also very important that we start forming a government as quickly as possible after the elections. This way we avoid large expenditures during long ongoing cases and we can immediately start tackling these major projects.”
