Provisional data from health institute Sciensano shows on Thursday morning that 15,025 patients have died of covid-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic in Belgium. The figures continue to go in the right direction.

Between 9 and 15 November, an average of 183.9 people died every day. That is 8.3 percent less compared to the seven days before.
The number of new infections and hospital admissions fell by 38 percent in the same period. Between 9 and 15 November, an average of 4,755.6 people became infected with the virus every day. In total, our country already has 545,787 confirmed infections.
According to the most recent figures, there are currently 5,897 people in hospital (-5 percent), 1,325 of whom are in intensive care (-2 percent). Between November 12 and 18, there were an average of 379.6 new hospital admissions every day. That is a decrease of 27 percent from the seven days before.
The positivity ratio, the number of people who test positive in relation to the total number of tests, drops to 19.4 percent. About 28,200 people are tested every day. The last known r-value dates from November 17, when it was 0.8. The figure has recently returned to below 1, which means that the pandemic in our country is shrinking.
