Belgium does not wait at all and is tightening up measures again – De Daily Standaard

Contrary to the Netherlands, Belgium does not wait at all and is simply tightening up the measures back on. The new Prime Minister De Croo and Minister of Health Vandenbroucke announced stricter measures now that the number of new infections in Belgium today exceeded 2300.
Belgian cafés must close at 11 p.m. on Friday and may have a maximum of four people at a table. The maximum number of people who are allowed to have contact with outside their household is three. At home, too, only four people may be invited and this must also be kept at a distance.

2300 new infections in one day was reason enough to take the measures so drastic to tighten. In the Netherlands we take a moment to look until next week whether or not we should be childish, while we already have well over 4,000 infections per day. What a contrast or not?

And we are currently already seeing the number of infections in nursing homes double. Isn’t that precisely the target group where you don’t want to look at the situation a bit further first, but want to intervene immediately? Especially now that hospitals are already having problems with it spread evenly of corona patients across the country. There is already a threat of bottlenecks developing that will simply lead to more (unnecessary) deaths. Just intervene, Rutte!
