Belgium. A gold ring with a diamond brings in more than 90,000 euros to the Belgian state, a record

This is a new record for the Belgian Ministry of Finance. A ring resulting from a judicial seizure was sold for 90,000 euros at auction. Never had an object brought such a sum to the State, “apart from vehicles”, reports the Belga agency.

An 18 karat gold ring adorned with a 5.14 karat diamond

The 18-carat gold ring adorned with a 5.14-carat diamond was offered for sale on the Fin Shop website, the store of the SPF Finances (the Federal Public Service in charge of finances). It was estimated at 80,000 euros, indicates the RTBFwhich relays information. The auctions, launched in mid-November, lasted 12 days and ended with an offer of exactly 90,300 euros.

This piece of jewelry, seized as part of an investigation, had been purchased from a famous Hong Kong jeweler, Chow Tai Fook.
