As in the Flat Country, the use of the mask is compulsory in Spanish public transport “and also in the case where the distance of 1.5 meters cannot be guaranteed, both inside and outside”, specifies the embassy.
Spain has been hit hard by the coronavirus. According to a count by John Hopkins University, the country of Cervantes had a total of 27,136 deaths Friday night and more than 243,000 contaminations since the start of the health crisis. The Spanish government started a cautious deconfinement in three phases in May, after having imposed one of the strictest confinements in the world. Monday, Galicia will be the first of the Spanish regions to be completely deconfigured, a week before the rest of the country. On July 1, Spain will finally reopen its external borders, after most other European countries.
The Iberian kingdom relies on its climate, its cultural heritage, its preserved natural areas, its beaches and its gastronomy to attract new Belgian tourists, which is one of the preferred destinations according to the Belgian Association of Tour Operators ( ABTO).
