The Ponte Ciolo, in the southern Italian region of Salento, is a place where many young people jump into the Adriatic Sea in summer. The force of that blow must have been immense due to the height of the jump, about 25 meters. Emergency services had to come to the scene to get her out of the water. The Belgian would have been transferred to the hospital of the city of Lecce with a serious back injury. She has also been operated on her back.
It is not the first time that things have gone wrong on the bridge: it would already be the thirteenth accident this summer. Several articles about the extremely dangerous jump have already appeared in Italian media.
