Belgian teacher put on hold over cartoon naked Mohammed – The Daily Standard

A teacher at a Brussels primary school has been put on hold for showing his group eight cartoons of a naked prophet Mohammed. Parents complained to the municipality of Molenbeek and the public school board. And they would rather give in to the pressure than run the risk of being beheaded too.

From the article it can be concluded that the teacher has actually been quite careful with this subject. Like the French teacher Paty, he also warned beforehand that he was going to bring out the cartoons and that those who did not want to see it, should not watch.

According to the city council, the decision to non-active has nothing to do with the risk of beheading by insane Islamists, but the drawings were “obscene”. Of course it cannot be for a teacher to show a drawing of a naked cartoon, Mohammed or not. Those poor children, who have never been on the internet before, are now marked for life.

I think we can conclude here that both the school board and the city council are completely cowardly rascals without any backbone. I understand that it is not very nice if you might be the target of a bunch of madmen, but as a driver you cannot hide behind these kinds of fallacies like ‘it was obscene’. That teacher has warned in advance and we are talking about Molenbeek here. The value that should first be defended is that of freedom of expression, even if it is satirical or even obscene.

And perhaps that fallacy does not even matter and such a terrorist will still be approached. Then, after the first beheading, they can immediately tackle him for his “obscene” form of speech.
