Belgian Star Eden Hazard Announces Retirement from Football at Age 32

Speculated this year as a possible reinforcement of the Botafogo, Eden Hazard announced his retirement from football this Tuesday. The Belgian star decided to stop playing at the age of 32.

Hazard had great seasons at Chelsea and shone for the Belgian national team. However, when he was signed by Real Madrid, he failed to live up to expectations. The player, once speculatedwas offered to Botafogo in August this year, but there was no progress.

Read Hazard’s letter:

“You have to listen to yourself and say enough is enough at the right time. After 16 years and more than 700 games played, I decided to end my career as a professional player.

I was able to make my dream come true. I played and had fun on many courses around the world.

During my career, I have been lucky enough to meet great managers, coaches and teammates. Thank you everyone for these great moments. I will miss everyone.

I also want to thank the clubs I played for: Lille, Chelsea and Real Madrid; and thank the Belgian Football Federation for my Belgian national team.

Special thanks to my family, my friends, my advisors and the people who have been close to me in good and bad times.

Finally, a big thank you to you, my fans, who have followed me all these years, and for your support everywhere I have played.”
