On Tuesday, the Belgian Public Prosecutor requested a life sentence for French jihadist Salah Abdeslam for his role in the Brussels attacks in March 2016, which killed 35 people.
“After terrorizing France, I decided to continue the war with the intention of killing innocent victims,” said Federal Prosecutor Paul Sommer, addressing the accused.
Abdel Salam was previously sentenced to life imprisonment in France in 2022 for his participation in the attacks of November 13, 2015, which left 130 people dead.
