Belgian programs cannot be nominated for Golden Rose…

The two nominated Belgian TV programs, the VTM telenovelle Lisa and the Ketnet series Signs of life, were unable to win a Golden Rose on Monday evening. The online ceremony for the 60th edition of the prestigious international TV award was hosted by English comedian Sue Perkins.

Signs of life was nominated in the category ‘Children and Youth’ but did not win. The program tells the stories of sixteen children with a scar. Production house De Mensen made it for Ketnet. The series already won an Emmy Kids Award last month. The BBC programme Horrible histories: Black history special came out as the winner.

Production house De Mensen was also nominated for Lisa. VTM’s telenovelle took part in the ‘Soap of Telenovelle’ category. Lisa is about the creative, shy Lisa who wants to make it in the marketing world and falls head over heels in love with her boss. The prize went to the Spanish soap of lives (Two lives).

Down the road, Sorry for everything, What if?, Benidorm bastards on The mole were able to cash in on their nomination for the Golden Rose in 2018, 2018, 2013, 2010 and 2000 respectively.
