After twenty years of management positions at McDonald’s in Europe, Manu Steijaert becomes the first-ever global cco in the company.

Manu Steijaert will lead a new team at McDonald’s as global chief customer officer (cco) to improve the customer experience, both in the thousands of fast food restaurants and the digital platforms on which the company operates. Steijaert will work at the Chicago headquarters and report directly to CEO Chris Kempczinski. His team needs to bundle the insights that are already being gathered by the customer data and marketing departments.
Steijaert has been active in management at McDonald’s since 2001, first in his own country and then in the Netherlands. He rose to become operational manager of the hamburger chain in twelve European countries. As a teenager he already worked in the McDonald’s restaurant of which his parents were franchisees.
More turnover
McDonald’s also announced yesterday that it had revenue of $5.9 billion in the second quarter. That is 57 percent more than in the same period last year, during the lockdown, and 6.9 percent higher than in 2019.
