Developers from the Belgian Larian Studios commented ongoing problems with saves on Xbox for its fantasy role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 and even offered a temporary solution to those affected.
Let’s remember that after the release on December 8, owners of Xbox Series X and S complained about disappearing saves in Baldur’s Gate 3. Released on December 11 patch by Larian and Microsoft should have corrected the situation, but did not.
In a recent message, Larian admitted that the situation has not gotten better, and explained its essence: due to a problem on the Xbox side, the game thinks that the save was successful, but the data is not fully written to the disk.
“Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it, but it appears to be less effective during the holidays. We will have to wait a while for a full patch.”,” Larian warned.
While waiting for a life-saving patch, Larian offered a temporary solution to the problem:
“We understand how losing progress is hurtful and unacceptable. We are doing everything possible to ensure that the problem, which is unique in its kind, is resolved as quickly as possible.”,” Larian assured.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was released on PC and macOS on Steam and GOG, as well as on PS5, Xbox Series X and S. As part of the Steam Winter Sale, which continues until January 4, the game received its first discount since its Early Access release.
