On Tuesday afternoon at noon, ticket sales for the neutral sections in the Allianz Arena normally open. All interested Belgians and Italians could thus obtain a ticket for Friday’s quarterfinals in Munich. But not a single Belgian has been able to buy a ticket today. “We are not getting an answer from UEFA and we are in the dark.”

At SC De Scheve Toren, a supporters’ club of the Red Devils from Schelle, the members were full of excitement in front of the computer at 12:00 this afternoon. The tickets for the neutral sections of the Allianz Arena in Munich went on sale on the UEFA site. It involved a total of 14,000 tickets.
“But that sale was never opened,” says Tom Ploegaerts of SC De Scheve Toren. “We refreshed the UEFA website for a whole day, but nothing happened. I hear a similar story at the other fan clubs. To Copenhagen we were able to put in a double-decker bus full of fans, now only ten of our members have been able to get a ticket. Time is running out, but we are not getting an answer from UEFA. Even with 1895, the official supporters’ umbrella for our national teams, they are groping in the dark.”
To make matters worse, the Belgian supporters are told that the Italian fans have obtained extra tickets. “We fear that the neutral boxes will be full of Italians and that only 1,400 Belgians will be present in the stadium. These are the Belgian supporters who had priority and had reserved their ticket long in advance. We don’t get any clarification from UEFA, the Belgian football association doesn’t know anything either. Very frustrating”, concludes Ploegaerts.
