This is due to the fact that the Belgian economy will grow less than originally thought. Three months ago, the Planning Bureau was still aiming for growth this and next year of 1.3 and 1.6 percent respectively.
But the expectation is now that the Belgian economy will only grow 1 percent this year. In 2024, growth is expected to be 1.3 percent. This is a significant slowdown compared to 2022, when growth was 3.2 percent.
