Van Ranst put a photo on Twitter of himself with the cake remains in his face. “He had a pizza box with him, I could just see. When he was close to me, he opened the box and threw a cream pie in my face. Then he immediately walked away.” says Van Ranst against the newspaper.
After the incident, he gave the lecture about the similarities between Covid-19 and the Spanish Flu. “Wiped my face and then gave my lecture. The rest of the cake was pretty good,” he writes on Twitter. The police have not yet been able to arrest the perpetrator.
