Belgian couple in quarantine at Schiphol after returning from South Africa: “I was told after hours that I was positive”

In the two planes that were flying from South Africa to the Netherlands yesterday, it turned out that 61 infected people were sitting, including Louis. “I had the impression that the people who were told that they were infected were amazed,” Louis says. “Because nobody really had symptoms or felt sick at the time.”

Louis can guess where he himself was infected, because during his trip he and his wife had fewer contacts than in Belgium. “And certainly no close contacts. It was also warm there, so everyone was almost always outside. When we went to a restaurant, our temperature was taken every time and everyone wore mouth masks.” Was he infected on the plane? “That is difficult to determine.”
