Princess Astrid continues her economic mission in the United States. After Atlanta, King Philip’s sister headed to New York. Princess Astrid begins the second part of her economic mission to the United States
Princess Astrid had an early takeoff from Atlanta on June 7, 2022. Princess Astrid arrived at noon in New York, where her American economic mission continues. Princess Astrid leads a Belgian delegation which includes around 540 people.
After moving to the Sheraton Hotel on Times Square, Princess Astrid joined the American headquarters of the famous Belgian brewery AB Inbev. Princess Astrid was greeted by Brendan Whitworth, CEO of Anheuser-Busch and President of the US Zone of AB Inbev. Princess Astrid received explanations about the group’s different beers that are marketed in the United States.

Princess Astrid on a rooftop in New York
Princess Astrid, Ministers David Clarinval, Willy Borsus and Pascal Smet, as well as the leaders of the brewery went up to the top floor of the building for a small reception and some networking opportunities. Princess Astrid admired the view from the rooftop of the building, while enjoying a Stella Artois. Stella Artois is the best-selling Belgian beer in the United States, explains USA Today.
Princess Astrid caused a stir with her extravagant outfit. Princess Astrid chose a piece signed Valentino. The Italian couturier’s jacket is entirely covered in two-tone sequins, sewn to obtain a trompe-l’oeil effect of tiger skin. The edges of the jacket are embellished with marabou feathers. The day before, the Princess Astrid had already stood out with a Dries Van Noten shirt which had been embellished with raffia embroidery recalling the colors of the Belgian flag.
After this breathtaking stop on the rooftops of New York, Princess Astrid attended a conference on the use of data in the health system at the Harvard Club. In the evening, Princess Astrid and Jean-Arthur Régibeau, Ambassador of Belgium to the United States, will attend the welcome reception organized at the e Loeb Boathouse Central Park.
