Josef Aschbacher, ESA Director Basic, known as the appointment of Sophie Adenot and Raphaël Liégeois as the subsequent ESA astronauts to fly to the ISS an “essential milestone for ESA and the astronaut class of 2022”.

Throughout their missions on the house station, Adenot and Liégeois will conduct a wide range of scientific experiments, conduct medical analysis, contribute to Earth statement and be concerned in operational and upkeep duties of the house station. Usually, the three different new skilled astronauts can even obtain a mission to the ISS by 2030.
