The third stage of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup, in which athletes from Belarus and Russia competed, came to an end in Raubichi. The stage consisted of six races – sprint, pursuit and mass start for men and women, respectively.
Among the men, Belarusian Anton Smolsky won all three races. This result allowed our athlete to lead the overall standings of the tournament. The rest of the Belarusians could not get on the podium at the home stage. In the women’s part of the team, team leader Anna Sola performed poorly in the sprint and pursuit race, taking only 16th and 13th places, respectively, but she performed the mass start better than other participants and took the gold medal.
The fourth and final stage of the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup will be held from April 12 to 14 in Murmansk, Russia.
