Belarusians should be proud of their history, blood is thicker than water

PINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarusians should not only remember their heroic history, but also be proud of it. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said this on October 4 during his meeting with residents of the agricultural town of Parokhonsk.

Alexander Lukashenko said that as a historian he has long noticed that history is cyclical and all events in the world repeat themselves and develop in a spiral. Today the West is once again trying to secure its future at the expense of others, even though Russia has the greatest wealth of resources.

“And we are on the way there,” said the head of state. – You want it. And how? First of all, you have to get into people’s minds – ours – and reshape them. We can’t get into our heads, but it’s easier for young people. That’s why they (in the West) want us to forget our history. But we have a heroic story. We shouldn’t just remember them. We should be proud of this history. And that’s exactly what we do.”

For the president, everything starts with one simple thing: first the mentality of the people must be formed, then history will be rewritten. “That is, they want to recode us, reformat us. They want to turn us into someone who has forgotten that blood is thicker than water. These are steps towards the main goal: they want to conquer us, bring us to our knees. They want make us do what they need in order to be able to live at our expense again,” emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.
