Passengers of the Belarusian Railway (BZD) issued more than 10.5 million electronic tickets in 2023 using new information services, reported at the carrier’s press service. Thus, 8.3 million electronic travel documents were issued for trains with numbered seats, which is almost 1.4 times more than in 2022.
On trains with unnumbered seats (city lines and regional economy class lines) through a single section “Passenger Services” of the official website of the Belarusian Railway and the mobile application “BC. My Train” sold 2.5 million electronic travel documents, which is almost 1.6 times higher than the sales level in 2022.
The popularity of electronic travel document sales services continues to grow. The most active growth is observed in the segment of electronic tickets for trains with numbered seats, the share of which is 77% of the total number of travel documents sold. For comparison, in 2022 it was 57%.
On trains with unnumbered seats, the most popular channel for ticketing was self-service terminals, which were used by 7.6 million passengers. This is 1.3 million more passengers than in 2022, representing 15.9% of total passenger traffic.
