In a video published by the Defense Ministry, Belarusian pilots say they are ready to use nuclear weapons “to ensure the military security of the Union State”.
Since March, there has been talk that Putin will deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
Nuclear warheads
At the beginning of April, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed that Belarus had received Iskander missiles, missiles that can be equipped with nuclear warheads.
– The Belarusian military has been handed the operational-tactical missile system Iskander-M. On April 3, Belarus’ forces began training how to use it, Shoigu said, according to the news agency Tass.
– Will receive thorough training
On the same day, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense published several photos of soldiers boarding military aircraft, allegedly bound for Russia.
– These men will receive thorough training related to the maintenance and use of the Iskander rockets and nuclear weapons, the ministry wrote on the Telegram messaging service.
The Russians also have plans to build a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, which should be completed by 1 July this year, which NATO and the EU have condemned.
