Belarus and Russia need to develop a plan of action in the face of sanctions. This was announced today, June 9, by Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Sochi.
“I have already publicly said at a meeting of our secretaries of security councils that Russia and I will think over a plan of action in this situation. Hoping that the sanctions will be lifted, we don’t even need to talk about it. We need to focus on our strengths and on ourselves. If we work out such an action plan, then our partners will definitely join, I am sure – both Kazakhstan within the framework of the EAEU and Uzbekistan. We will create attractive conditions, – he said.
The Belarusian leader also expressed confidence that the Union State within the framework of the EAEU will only grow stronger.
“Well, specialists need to work in governments – I think we can do it … I’m already afraid to talk about it … We thought it would be worse, but so far it’s a little better than we thought, and thank God. We will slowly rebuild our relationship.” Lukashenka stressed.
Recall that Belarus and Russia are under unprecedented sanctions pressure from Western countries. In this regard, Minsk and Moscow decided to intensify bilateral relations. In addition, Belarus calls on all members of the EAEU to join the counteraction of the two countries to external pressure.
