Bekasi Regency Commemorates World AIDS Day at Gedung Juang Museum

Bekasi,‍ Indonesia – The Bekasi Regency AIDS Commission (KPA) marked World ⁤AIDS Day 2024 with a series of events aimed at raising awareness and promoting prevention. Held at the South Tambun Juang ​Building Museum, ‍the commemoration brought together HIV/AIDS activists and ⁤junior high school‍ students from across the regency.

Ade Barwono, Head of the KPA Secretariat for Bekasi Regency, emphasized the importance of education in combating the spread of HIV/AIDS. “We are collaborating ‍with the ‍Bekasi Regency Social Service to⁤ deliver ​vital ‌details‍ to young‍ people about preventing HIV/AIDS,” he stated.

“It’s ‍crucial for⁢ teenagers to ⁢receive accurate sex education from thier parents and trusted sources,” Barwono added. “Guidance both ‌at⁤ home⁣ and in the community, along with age-appropriate media consumption, plays a vital role in shaping healthy choices.”

He also highlighted the importance of seeking information about HIV/AIDS ‌and engaging in ‌open⁢ discussions.”Staying ‌active in positive activities is another key factor ​in promoting well-being and reducing risk,” Barwono advised.

The⁤ Bekasi Regency government has made significant strides in providing accessible healthcare‍ for those living with HIV/AIDS. ⁤”We have 14 community health centers, ​and ⁤also specialized services at RSUD ‍Cibitung and RSUD Cabangbungin,” Barwono explained. “Our goal is⁢ to ensure that‍ everyone has access to quality care and treatment.”

This year’s World AIDS Day theme, “Equal Rights for All, together We‌ Can,” underscores the global commitment to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic by 2030. In Bekasi Regency, the commemoration included a symbolic “long​ march”​ led‌ by HIV/AIDS activists, culminating in a ribbon distribution ceremony at the Tambun Police Station.
