One by one, six ladies pushed their way towards the wall in their F3 cars during the W Series qualifying. Remarkably enough, on the way to Raidillon, several drivers went completely wrong – possibly due to a slippery road surface – and six drivers crashed into each other.
Beitske Visser was the biggest victim, because she had to take a big blow up to three times, the last of which was the most serious. When she herself had almost come to a stop, she was hit hard in the flank by a colleague who could no longer avoid her.
Visser’s car was launched and ended up upside down in the middle of the track. In the process, part of the rear of her car came off, but the cockpit remained intact. Fortunately, everyone was able to avoid her further, after which the Dutch crawled out of her car and stumbled to the side.
Two ladies, Visser and Ayla Agren, were taken to hospital for further checks. The rest are doing well.
