The KMT North City Legislative District 7 (Xinyi, Nansongshan) ignited the battle between Legislator Fei Hongtai and Taipei City Councilor Xu Qiaoxin. The two sides exchanged mutual control and sent assistants to register first, resulting in a total of 6 people registering for the primary election. This “Fei Xin War” even spread to Taipei City Council Speaker Dai Xiqin, but the Taipei City Party Headquarters finally jumped out of the hemorrhage today (25th). After review by the nomination committee, except Fei Xu and the other four were disqualified to clear the battlefield.

The municipal party department stated that after the nomination review group meeting reviewed the qualifications for the election, only Fei Hongtai and Xu Qiaoxin were qualified to participate in the primary election. Next Tuesday (28th), only Fei and Xu can participate in the negotiation of the selection method.

Of the remaining four, two are from Fei’s camp and one is from Xu’s camp. It is not legitimate for the aides to participate in the primary election together with the boss of the Democratic Party, so they were disqualified. The sudden appearance of the registration sparked controversy, so eligibility was deemed ineligible.

As for whether the final primary election should be voted by 70% of the polls and 30% of party members in the current system, instead of the whole poll, it will be decided by Fei Hongtai and Xu Qiaoxin next Tuesday.

Regarding the party’s elimination of the four candidates, Xu Qiaoxin said that he respected and thanked the party’s decision. Immediately, she said that none of the office assistants should register, but Fei Hongtai’s office insisted on doing so, so she had no choice but to register one to express her protest. It is a good thing to revoke the qualifications and get the election back on track now, and I am sorry for the disturbance caused during this process.

In addition, since the owner of the noodle shop has personally stated that he is running independently and not supporting anyone, I hope Fei Hongtai can stay calm and not be too sensitive.
