Beijing says it will take action after delisting Chinese telecoms from NYSE

SHANGHAI, Jan 2 (Reuters) – China will take “necessary measures” to safeguard the interests of its companies after the New York Stock Exchange began delisting three Chinese telecommunications companies accused of having military ties, the official said. The New York Stock Exchange announced Thursday that it would begin delisting China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom in response to President Donald Trump’s decision to ban US investments in companies owned or controlled by the Chinese military.

China’s Commerce Ministry said that the delisting of such companies from the stock market was against national security and market rules.
