Krefeld / Mönchengladbach. This season, too, the theater welcomes four new FSJ students in a wide variety of areas
Despite the current Corona situation, the community theater offers four young volunteers in the areas of theater education, photography, dramaturgy and press and public relations the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes.
Louisa Jonas is doing her voluntary social year in the field of music theater and dramaturgy. The 18-year-old comes from Meckenheim and will soon be moving to Mönchengladbach for her FSJ. After graduating from school, she asked what she would like to do in the future. But one thing is certain for them: “something with music”, preferably with a trumpet. Louisa grew up with music and theater as her mother worked as a mediator and specialist assistant in opera and advertising. With her FSJ she hopes to gain new insights into working at the theater and gaining experience – now also behind the scenes. As an assistant director she is at the rehearsals and reads the director’s books.
19-year-old Carla Hartwig works in the field of theater education. She has always been interested in the theater, also through one or two theater visits with her class, and was also involved in a musical production at school. When she came across an advertisement for the FSJ on the Internet, it was clear to her that she wanted to gain new insights into the world of theater. Since she might later want to study psychology, she especially enjoys contact and working with a wide variety of people. Among other things, she is responsible for the design of the brochures and newsletters and watches the rehearsals of the youth club.
The 20-year-old Louisa Bullerjahn is doing her FSJ in the field of photography. As a child, she has always enjoyed going to the theater’s children’s concerts. She would like to use the year as an orientation time. Since she has always had a great interest in creative work and especially photography, the FSJ at the theater seemed to her to be an ideal opportunity to find out how things will go on for her. Her tasks include filming the dress rehearsals, hanging up pictures and posters and helping to design the website.
Helen Dohmen works in press and public relations during her FSJ. Since she used to go to the theater quite often and played for some time in the improvisational theater of the Neersen Castle Festival and in a school performance, she is looking forward to getting to know theater from a completely new perspective. Among other things, she is responsible for the daily press review, the press walls in the theater foyers, the organization of the information flyers for the productions and the announcements of premieres. She also looks after the press representatives at the premieres.
In addition to their daily tasks, all four volunteers also have the opportunity to design their own project and participate creatively and directly in the work of the theater.
