The duplicity of Governor Arif Muhammad Khan has come to light, littered with false accusations to hinder and defame the work of the state government. Charges against the state government erupted on the governor after the letter came out demanding the regularization of Raj Bhavan’s personnel.
It was the governor who, in his constitutional position, was more valiant than the opposition, and who had consistently railed against the LDF government as backdoor appointments, had written to the prime minister asking him to stabilize his office staff and his photographer. The letters released yesterday further clarify that the governor’s goal is only to implement the RSS agenda.

On 29th December 2020, the governor requested through a letter that 20 temporary employees and P Dilip Kumar who works as a photographer at Raj Bhavan be made permanent. The letter was issued requesting regularization of Kudumbashree appointees with less than five years of service. In the letter, the governor also requested that the “Cypher Assistant” post be rebranded to the photographer post to stabilize Dileep, who was working as a photographer on a contract basis. They were also asked to consider this a special case and take the necessary measures. According to the governor’s special interest, the appointment is made on the basis of the letter sent to the prime minister, it is also clarified in the confirmation order.

Explanation also plays a role

After the release of the letter issued by the Raj Bhavan requesting the regularization of the employees of the Raj Bhavan, the explanation of the Raj Bhavan is also in doubt. The Raj Bhavan PRO presented weak arguments. The statement said that since Arif Muhammad Khan took over as governor, no person has been appointed to the personal staff beyond the sanctioned number. Raj Bhavan argued that the letter was issued to regularize the employees before he took up the post and the recommendation to regularize the photographer was in accordance with state government policy.

But it was revealed earlier that during his tenure, the Governor has appointed people including the BJP leader to his personal staff. The Governor himself, against the staffing of the Cabinet of Ministers, made him into the staff and demanded the regularization of the Raj Bhavan employees.
