Turkish Cypriot Begüm Tekakpınar, who was awarded the first place in the 3rd “Meykin Asya” International Music Festival held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, said that she will make an effort to promote the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) by participating in festivals abroad.
Tekakpınar, who was welcomed with flowers in his country on his return from Kyrgyzstan, stated that the festival was an important experience for him and stated that he felt in advance that he would gain success.
Expressing that the Turkish Cypriots had the opportunity to promote their culture at the 3rd “Meykin Asia” International Music Festival, Tekakpınar said, “From now on, I will try to promote my country more by participating in festivals abroad. My musical life will continue with compositions and other festivals abroad. I continue my music education in the Netherlands. Whenever I have the opportunity, I try to introduce the cultures of the Turkish Cypriots there.” said.
Tekakpınar stated that it was an honor for him to participate in the festival representing the TRNC in Kyrgyzstan and said, “Because of my success, people in TRNC and Turkey were proud of me and put me in an indescribable happiness.” he said.
Tekakpınar thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his support to the Turkish Cypriots, and also expressed his gratitude to the TRNC President Ersin Tatar and the Ministry of Culture.
