The period of… final clarification has begun and as many experienced observers predict, with the completion of one year since the internal party elections in SYRIZA, when Stefanos Kasselakis was elected its president, there is the prospect of a new split.
SYRIZA on September 8, after the end of the planned Central Committee, will not be the same. It will be the end of SYRIZA as we knew it as a big debate is currently unfolding as to whether or not cadres opposed to the current leadership will stay or file a motion of impeachment to trigger the procedures for a new internal party election.

But the main thing now is whether or not SYRIZA can stay united. Even St. Kasselakis essentially admitted the problem yesterday with the report that public debate is unhealthy for SYRIZA. And when its president admits this, whose supporters engage in “cannibalization” of executives with their posts, the problem is deeper and goes far beyond talk of correlations.
The leadership is already shaping the framework and preparing for the final clearing, a term it does not accept. The press representative of the party, Voula Kehagia, said this at noon yesterday at the briefing of the political editors. “However, as long as there is a challenge – an invitation that there is a question of questioning him and this takes an official form, any invitation addressed to him is welcome, the invitation if you want, from whoever, and in this case the procedures will be initiated” emphasized B. In view of today’s meeting of the Parliamentary Group where St. Kasselakis will not participate in physical presence, discussions are intensifying in the background about if, how and when the motion of censure will be raised and names of potential candidates are already beginning to circulate, such as e.g. of MEP Professor Nikos Faradouris, but also how St. Kasselakis.
At the same time, the scenario of St. Kasselakis was burned. After the resignation of Othon Iliopoulos from the position of State Member of Parliament, the runner-up, former press representative Popi Tsapanidou, who is expected to be sworn in next Friday, is not willing to resign.
The issue of Pavlos Polakis is still a concern for the leadership, with the former minister still not having met with St. Kasselakis to discuss what divides them…especially the major issue for the former, that of Athena Linou.
