The start of the season was catastrophic: Lok Zagreb lost the opener against champions Dinamo Zagreb 6-0. But before the duel with Rapid in qualifying for the Champions League, Croatia’s runners-up should regain confidence. Lok won 1-0 against Rijeka, happily but still.
Very efficient
The home win (in an otherwise empty stadium) was followed closely by a Rapid Scout. After many transfers and lucrative sales, the newly formed Lok team concentrated on defensive work. Once a nice attack succeeded, promptly the midfielder Dino Halilovic, who had been substituted on after 15 minutes, headed in (53.).
Otherwise, Rijeka, just behind their Rapid opponents in third place in the table last season, was superior. But even after the departure of the strong number 1 Grbic to Atletico Madrid (seven million should have flowed) Lok’s defense with the ex-Austrian Petar Gluhakovic held.
