From January to September the increase is 106.53%
The price of gas for September is BGN 55.62 per megawatt-hour, Bulgargaz forecasts. The company is required by law to publish a forecast a month before submitting a proposal on how much gas will cost to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.
Compared to the effective price for July of BGN 49.94 per megawatt hour (excluding prices for access, transmission, excise and VAT), the increase is 11.51%.
Since January, except for March, gas prices have risen every month. In the first month of the year, a megawatt-hour cost BGN 26.93, if we compare it with the forecast for September, the increase is 106.53%.
Let us recall that the first more serious appreciation for a year provoked a reaction from politicians and rather from the Minister of Energy Temenujka Petkova. The price of gas for April 1 was determined only on the 21st of the month, due to the inspection, which she appointed at a price of BGN 33.19 per megawatt-hour, which is an increase of over 15% compared to March. If we compare the forecast for September with the price, which caused concern among the authorities, the increase is 67.58%.
As the “24 hours” newspaper wrote on Friday, the price of natural gas on the international markets marks records. At the Dutch hub on Monday the price was 38 euros, for the week it is between 32-34 euros. Liquefied natural gas, which is already more expensive than pipeline gas, is becoming more expensive, gas experts say.
In its forecast today, Bulgargaz announced that the price of BGN 55.62, or EUR 28.44 per megawatt-hour, which the company forecasts for September, is lower than the forecast for the European gas markets for the same month, which is EUR 34. .
