Car exchange Arena is ready in all its splendor with new lawn and so are we! Linköping FC welcomes last season’s runner-up, BK Häcken, to Bilbörsen Arena, Monday 22 April with kick-off at 19:00.
We started this year’s OBOS Damallsvenskan with a 0-0 result and a point in the meeting with IF Brommapojkarna at Grimsta IP last weekend. Now it’s time to take on Häcken in the first home game of the year!
Words from Ella Lundin
Before the home premiere, we exchanged a few words with the team’s youngest player and who this week was selected for the F17 European Championship with Sweden later in May, Ella Lundin. How does it really feel to know that you will be playing at home in a youth championship?
– It feels great to be trusted to represent Sweden in the EC at home. I have been able to play a number of international matches and to now be able to play a championship on home ground is incredibly fun and is something I have fought for, says Ella.
How do you think the season with LFC has been so far for yourself and what do you think you need to do against Häcken to win on Monday?
– I think I have had a good training series during the pre-season and I think that the training environment with the A team strengthens me with each training session. Against Häcken, I am sure that we all need to perform at our peak and to use the top qualities that I know we all have, both individually and as a team.
When and where?
The match against BK Häcken tomorrow, Monday 22 April, at 19:00. If you can’t watch the match on site, it will be streamed on Viaplay and broadcast on TV6. A mine studio will be located at the Bilbörsen Arena to manage the broadcast itself.
Our opponents
Last season, BK Häcken finished second, on the same total points as league winners Hammarby IF. A goal on goal difference separated these two. This year, many have tipped Häcken as favorites to win SM gold. The team from Gothenburg and Hisingen conceded only ten goals in 2023 and thereafter they scored 53 goals. Of the top 3 teams, this was the lowest number of goals scored, but the strong defense and Jennifer Falk’s great play in goal still contributed to success. They will probably come to the Bilbörsen Arena with a large portion of self-confidence after a successful Champions League game, where they reached the quarter-finals. The trip in Europe ended against Paris Saint-Germain at the end of March and now Hisingslagen is looking for national success.
Linköping FC – BK Häcken “head to head”
Linköping met Häcken in round 9 away last season and lost at Bravida Arena with 3-0 and then played 0-0 at home at Bilbörsen in round 18 at home at Bilbörsen Arena. For Linköping, it’s about making use of the situations that arise and the surfaces behind Häcken’s, often high-positioned back line.
Next for Linköping…
…waiting away game at Visma Arena, Saturday 27 April at 15:00, when we travel to Småland to play against Växjö DFF.
