His partner, Reichelyn Blace, revealed that Penaredondo and the offenders were asked to squat 100 times, and were told to repeat if not in unison.
By the time Penaredondo came home the next morning, he was already having trouble walking because he had already performed 300 squats.
To the Philippine media Rappler, Blace said that Penaredondo had to be carried by fellow curfew violators.
“I asked him if he was tortured. He just laughed, but I knew he was in so much pain,” he said.
Blace explained that during the day her husband had to crawl along the floor because his legs and knees hurt.
It was while using the bathroom that Penaredondo had a seizure. His neighbors tried to save him with a breath of breath.

Rodolfo Cruz Jr, the local village security chief, admitted Penaredondo was detained for violating the curfew.
However, he said he was taken away by the local city police. Lieutenant Colonel Marlo Solero as the head of the local police made a rebuttal.
He denied that his members punished squats. Solero said his staff only lectured when there were offenders.

Ferrer stated that he had contacted the Penaredondo family to send his condolences. “We want to know what really happened.”
