Singer Samanta Tīna is holding an online meeting today before going to the Netherlands to participate in the 65th International Eurovision Song Contest, LETA was informed on Latvian Television.

The singer revealed that tonight the audience will be surprised by the only Eurovision winner from Latvia – Marija Naumova and the participants of this year’s Baltic contest – the group “The Roop” from Lithuania and singer Uku Suviste from Estonia.

Samantas Tina’s Facebook live broadcast will start at 8 p.m.

Samanta Tīna and the Latvian delegation will go to Rotterdam on May 10. Rehearsals of the Eurovision Song Contest on the Eurovision grand stage “Ahoy” arena for Tina will start on May 11. Samanta will represent Latvia with the song “The Moon Is Rising”, which tells about the power of a woman and the call for everyone to be aware of their own value and beauty, not subject to societal standards and stereotypes.

As reported, the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam will take place in the presence of spectators. The number of spectators will be reduced by half the usual number and they will have to show proof of a negative Covid-19 test. The Dutch government has previously announced that Eurovision will become part of the Fieldlab project, which is exploring the possibility of safe events during a pandemic.

However, it is not yet known whether the competition will be open only to Dutch residents or whether it will be open to visitors from abroad.

The government indicated that it could still change its decision on spectator participation if the epidemiological situation in the country deteriorated.

39 countries will take part in the 65th International Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The semi-finals will take place on May 18 and 20, and the final, which will feature 26 songs, will take place on May 22.

In 2020, due to a new coronavirus pandemic, the Eurovision Song Contest was canceled.
