Anderlecht and Vincent kompany are still not at their best in the Pro League. This Monday, during La Tribune, our consultants returned to the role of T1 of Vincent Kompany. A role that perhaps should have been started later.
“I understand Vincent says he can do better because he is. On the other hand, I find that his interview where he says he has to do something else, I don’t know what he means. I think he does not follow through with his idea. And the Anderlecht supporters are waiting for something to happen and for someone to explain things to them a little more“, commence Cécile De Gernier. If the former footballer is of this opinion, this is not the case of Stéphane Streker and of Khalilou Fatigue.
“I am of the opposite opinion, because Kompany assume what’s going on. I know he is very criticized and I understand what he is saying and I find it normal that he does not say everything. He questions himself and it’s unusual” started Stéphane.
And Fatigue to add: “What must also be said is that Anderlecht was already ill before Kompany arrives at the club. And when we think of Vincent, we think of his career which is a success. But when you become a coach, you don’t approach the game in the same way. And I like the way Vincent takes responsibility. He assumes it doesn’t work, but he tries to set things up. And if we see the people who are nostalgic for who was Kompany as a player is that they make an amalgam.“

T2 before being T1
As we can see, the question divides. However, one subject on which all of our consultants agree is that Vincent kompany perhaps should have gone through step T2.
“He came as a player-coach and in the end it wouldn’t have been better if he became the assistant to Guardiola ? He would have done results with him and only then would he have returned to Anderlecht and he would have been received differently“, commence Stéphane.
Khalilou Fatigue abounds in the same direction: “When you don’t have the players doing what you did in a club, it’s difficult. He should have acted like Arteta and learn from your coach. Because going from player to coach is different. He should have learned under Guardiola and then return to Anderlecht.“
Finally, Philippe Albert add to the philosophy of Vincent, “that he does not deviate. We are talking about Anderlecht, but it’s bad. And if Kompany downs his players, he will have to go against his philosophy and for him, no question.“
Anderlecht are now in eighth position (14/27), just behind… OHL, seventh (15/27).
