Before Buying Unit Link Insurance, You Must Be Nasty With This Question!

Jakarta

Customer’s recent time unit link demanded their money back. This is because they feel that the agents do not convey information that is in accordance with the facts they are experiencing at this time.

Therefore, if you want to buy a unit-linked insurance product, you must ask the agent for details regarding the product. Do not be easy to agree and sign without knowing what the contents of the policy or agreement are.

Financial planner from the Advisors Alliance Group Indonesia, Andy Nugroho, said that unit link is an insurance product linked to investment (PAYDI).

Therefore there are several questions that should be asked of the offering agent. Among others:

– How much sum assured will I get?
– What benefits can I get if I buy this product?
– What are the benefits covered by this insurance?
– How long can I get coverage and benefits?
– What if half way through I can’t pay the policy? What will happen?
– How to make an easy and uncomplicated claim? What do I have to do?
– How is the estimated return on investment? What are the risks I might encounter? What impact will it have on me?
– How well do you understand this investment and unit link?
– What if I want to withdraw the money as stated in the policy?
– What if I die? What do the heirs get? How to take care of it? How long will it take to take care of this?
– How long is this contract?
– What are the costs covered by me? Starting from the acquisition costs and what discounts will be made?
– How much are these costs? Why do I have to pay that fee?
– What type of investment will the company use for this unit link?
– How is the performance or health of the insurance company?
– How is the licensing of this insurance company?
– How about your license at the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI)? How long have you worked?
– Why do you call this a savings product, even though unit link and savings are different products?
– What if there is a problem in the future? Where should I report?

Andy explains that these questions are very important to ask. Prospective policyholders must be really detailed because this involves the funds deposited with the insurance company.

“Ask everything clearly and ask for a complete explanation. Don’t ever feel bad because you don’t know, the agent’s job is to explain in detail so that it doesn’t become a problem in the future,” explained Andy.
